1. How do I get to EricBnB (Prinsengracht house)?
 

From Schipol airport, take a train (runs every 15 minutes) to Amsterdam Central Station. From Central Station, take Tram # 1,2 or 5 (which stop in front of Central Station) and tell the tram driver or conductor to announce the "Prinsengracht" tram stop. Go down at this tram stop and walk to the left of the Prinsengracht towards number 667. The canal house is approximately 100 meters from the tram stop. For early or late arrivals, please consult Eric on the best mode of travel as tram service is NOT 24-hours.

Look for the doorplate that says "Malferrari Van Kleef"

2. How do I get to EricBnB (Govert Flinckstraat house) from the airport?
 

From Schipol airport, take a train (runs every 15 minutes) to Amsterdam Central Station. From Central Station, take tram # 4 (which stops in front of Central Station) and tell the conductor at the back of the tram to announce the "Stadhouderskade, Albert Cuyp" tram stop. Go down at this tram stop and walk straight ahead to the direction of Van Woustraat. Govert Flinkstraat is the first street to your left after you pass the Albert Cuyp market. Or you can ask any one of the helpful and friendly Dutch people to point this out. Look for Building number 319. For early or late arrivals, please consult Eric on the best mode of travel as tram service is NOT 24-hours.

If you prefer to take the taxi from Central Station, tell the driver to go to Govert Flinckstraat via the Amsteldijk (pronounced as "Amstel-dike". Look for Building number 319 with nameplate on the door "Eric Malferrari".

3. How far is EricBnB from the tram stop?
 

Eric's B&B is only a three-minute walk to or from the tram stop that takes you to Central Station.

4. How far is EricBnB from Central Station?
 

You can walk to Central Station from Eric's B&B in about 30 minutes. By tram, it takes around 10 minutes from the tram stop to Central Station.

5. Does the apartment have a secure place to store valuables?
 

For your convenience, all our apartments have a private safe to lock up important belongings (passports, cash, etc.).

6. What restaurants are in the area?
 

Eric's B&B is in the area called the "pijp" (pronounced pipe) which is famous in Amsterdam for its multicultural neighborbood. Therefore, you have a lot of restaurants to choose from. You can get a decent meal starting from 7 Euros.

7. What is the voltage for appliances in Amsterdam?
 

220 volts. Or you can use appliances that have dual 110/220 voltage. At time of booking, you may request that we furnish voltage (power) converters/transformers for your apartment.

9. Is ground floor the same as first floor?
 

In Amsterdam, as in most other places in Europe, the floor at ground level is called the ground floor and the floor above that is called the first floor.

10. Are towels and sheets included in the B&B rate?
 

Just like a hotel, EricBnB provides clean sheets and towels along with breakfast supplies in your private apartment.

11. Are children and pets welcome at EricBnB?
 

Due to window openings which have no safety bars, the apartments are unsuitable for children under 12. We also cannot accomodate pets in the apartment.

12. How do I get a map of EricBnB neighborhood?
 

Online maps are available at www.mapquest.com website which is very easy and useful. Click on the maps option of Eric BnB web page.

13. Why does EricBnB require a credit card confirmation?
 

This is standard practice in most hotels in Amsterdam. Your credit card number is just a guarantee for your room reservation. You will not be billed until your actual stay. However, we request that any changes or cancellations be done at least one week in advance. No-shows will be billed one day rental.

14. Is there a market near EricBnB?
 

The Albert Cuyp open-air market is just around the corner from Eric's Govertflinckstraat B&B. There are also several food stores in the neighborhood.

15. Why does EricBnB have two addresses?
 

The Govert Flinckstraat house was opened for business in 1997 with Apartment 2 for rent. Apt 3 was renovated in 1999. In 2002, Eric and husband Gert, renovated a canal house on Prinsengracht. Apartments M and V are now available as part of EricBnB.

16. What attractions are near the Prinsengracht house?
 

Apartments M and V are at the corner of Prinsengracht and Leidsegracht canals. It is in the center of Leidseplein which is the major shopping and restaurant area of Amsterdam. If you want to stay in the heart of the city, this is it! Privacy and convenience are yours in these lovely units.

17. Which web address do I use?
 

EricBnB can now be accessed as www.ericbnb.com in addition to www.eric-bnb.bigstep.com. We hope this new address will be easier to use and remember so you can refer our site to your friends and family!
